SEND and Inclusion
The Triple Crown Centre is uncompromising in its ambition to consistently improve outcomes for students across all three pathways. Staff work tirelessly to meet the needs of all our young people, ensuring that students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make progress in line with, or improving towards, others with similar starting points.
We are committed to inclusion and believe that every student should feel valued, supported, and able to succeed. We aim to remove barriers to learning by providing personalised support that reflects each student’s individual strengths, needs, and goals.
What are Special Educational Needs?
All children may experience difficulties with learning at some stage. For many, these challenges can be overcome with support from home and school. However, some children need additional help, or support in a different way, to ensure they are able to learn effectively.
A child may have special educational needs if they:
Have greater difficulty learning than most others of the same age, or
Have a disability which makes it harder for them to use the facilities provided for other pupils of the same age.
A disability may be defined as a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term negative effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.
Our Approach to Supporting SEND
We support pupils through a graduated approach, where needs are identified early and support is carefully planned and reviewed. This follows the cycle:
Assess – Plan – Do – Review
This ensures that support is personalised, regularly evaluated, and adapted where necessary so that every student can access the curriculum and make progress.
Provision may include:
Adapted teaching strategies
Targeted interventions
Specialist advice from external professionals where needed
Working with Parents, External Agencies, and Monitoring Progress
Regular meetings with parents and carers are held to discuss students’ progress and any additional needs. We value working in partnership with families and collaborate with a range of external agencies and professionals to ensure all students receive the support they need, regardless of their disability or educational need.
Students’ progress and support are reviewed regularly by staff to ensure provision remains effective, allowing adjustments to be made where necessary so that all learners continue to make progress.
