History
Intent
The History curriculum at The Triple Crown Centre aims to provide students with a broad and engaging range of historical narratives, designed to foster both knowledge and skills that will benefit them throughout their school life and into the future. The curriculum explores British, European, and World History across various time periods, encouraging students to immerse themselves in diverse historical contexts, challenge their perspectives, and engage critically with the past.
Through the study of different eras and cultures, students will develop a deep understanding of key historical concepts. These include the ability to compare similarities and differences across time periods and societies, assess progress and change over time, and critically evaluate different interpretations of historical events. Such skills will empower students to undertake their own historical enquiries with confidence and rigour.
The History curriculum at The Triple Crown Centre aspires to instil a lifelong passion for History. By fostering an appreciation of students' own place in time and encouraging the development of essential skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and empathy, the curriculum aims to support students' personal growth. Ultimately, History will equip students to flourish as well-rounded individuals, prepared for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter after leaving school.
