Careers Adviser
My name is Neil and I am currently the Careers Adviser at The Triple Crown Centre. I have a Diploma in Careers Guidance Part 1 & 2. I am a member of the CDI and I abide by the CDI Code of Ethics.
I have 25 years’ experience working in the education sector. Previously, I was employed as a Careers Adviser for 4 years and progressed into Careers Management for 19 years.
I have worked in various roles and departments i.e. universities, schools, colleges, in-custody and community venues. Advising people from a wide range of backgrounds and age range, helping them to achieve their academic and vocational aspirations.
I have had extensive experience regarding preparing for Ofsted inspections and Matrix assessments. I secured new contracts to give students opportunities to reach their potential.
My colleagues and I were involved in a project where we visited America and worked with at risk children. We visited Schools and Colleges, explored the issues facing the students. We compared the American Educational System with the UK’s and benchmarked good practice.
In my current role as an Independent Careers Adviser, I secure contracts through direct negotiations with schools and also sub-contract for a Careers Service. I deliver advice and guidance to individual clients, offering them the opportunity to investigate careers linked to courses, identify barriers, and investigate progression routes using Labour Market Information.
I also support students with a Statement of Educational Needs by contributing to their Education Health Care Plan. My real desire is to see students succeed.
